FOSSO CORNO - Società Agricola
Fosso Corno Estate’s located in Roseto Degli Abruzzi in the province of Teramo and covers 30 hectares on a single hill.
From one side of the hill, you can admire the deep blue of the Adriatic Sea, whereas towards the west you can enjoy a view of the imposing mountain chain of Gran Sasso.
Our father, Augusto Biscardo, fell in love with this place and he decided to purchase a single hill in Cologna Paese, founding Fosso Corno Estate in 2003.
The existing vineyards were uprooted and substituted by new ones between 2003 and 2006. The whole Estate was divided into 17 plots, from which we vinify separately.
Our vineyards’re particularly endowed with a fortunate microclimatic position, with a fresh air corridor constantly blowing from the mountain, interchanging itself with a delicate breeze coming from the sea. These microclimatic conditions allow us to produce fresh, full-bodied, and flavourful Montepulciano d’Abruzzo wines with a special evolution potential.
We produce Montepulciano under two appellations: both Montepulciano d’Abruzzo Doc and the unique Colline Teramane Montepulciano d’Abruzzo Docg.
Last but not least, we put special attention in environment sustainability, applying the "integrated fight" in the vineyards, the directive that allows to obtain a product almost free of chemical residues.
The work isn’t over yet. Our engagement’s still going on in making a product of the highest quality. This means serious work of experimental agronomy and vineyard’s care.
Fosso Corno aims at making itself known as a great interpreter of the most typical wine of the region: Montepulciano d’Abruzzo. This is our goal for the near future.
